Marc Rizzo is an American guitarist known worldwide for his explosive playing style, blending thrash, death metal, and flamenco-influenced guitar techniques into a sound that is instantly recognizable. Born in New Jersey, Rizzo has built a reputation as one of metal’s most dynamic and technically skilled guitarists through decades of touring, recording, and collaborating with some of the genre’s most influential artists.
Rizzo first gained international attention as the original guitarist for Ill Niño, before going on to spend nearly two decades as lead guitarist for Soulfly. During that time, he performed on numerous albums and toured the world extensively, becoming a defining part of the band’s sound. He was also a member of Cavalera Conspiracy, further cementing his place in modern heavy metal.
Expanding his legacy even further, Rizzo also performed with the legendary punk band Misfits, bringing his aggressive metal guitar style to the iconic group’s live performances.
In addition to his work with major bands, Marc has released several critically praised solo instrumental albums, showcasing his versatility and unique fusion of metal shredding with flamenco-inspired guitar.
